– Mayfair is every players must have property in monopoly, and rightly so. Named after the two week long May Fair held in Shepherds Market  till 1784 has now long moved on to Fair Field in Bow, East London. The area gradually became the center of commercial attraction for those looking to move away from the City and became home to companies of varying industries such as private banks, hedge funds, real estate and of course the Grade II listed US embassy in Grosvenor Square which was sold to Qatari Investors to later become a luxurious hotel.

Mayfair is one of London’s most prestigious areas and has most recently has been topped as the most luxurious neighborhoods  as mentioned by the Daily Telegraph. The area has seen dramatic change from a commercial district to become home to the most rich and famous around the world in turn the area has become the main shopping district for the uber rich.

Residents who have happened to have graced the area with their presence albeit for a short period, range from the musical geniuses of Jimi Hendrix and Frederick Handel to HRH Queen Elizabeth II who was born at  a Bruton Street residence.

To appeal to millionaires billionaires and the occasional aristocrat, Mayfair is home to some of the most world-renowned fashion streets, flagship stores and shopping arcades which include Saville Row for the best in tailored suits, Bond street for fine jewellery which includes stores of Tiffany & Co, De Beers and Cartier and Burlington, Piccadilly and Royal arcade.
